Hi my name is Alix Apperley, and I am a photographer living in Regina, Sk. For as long as I can remember, I have had an interest in art and cars. I loved to draw and listen to music. And when I was a kid, you could always find me in the garage with my dad and brother. It wasn’t until I received my first digital camera that I became interested in photography.
It came really easy to me, I was able to come up with compositions without really thinking about it; everything just made sense. I take mostly portraits and pictures of animals but I dabble in other genres such as macro photography and landscapes. But I would have to say my favourite is taking action shots. I find that the more difficult it is to get the shot that you want, the happier you are when you finally get it.
I have assisted Kiriako Iatridis (who is a commercial photographer based out of Regina and Saskatoon) on multiple occasions. And I have also worked with Stick Productions: Photography and Videography (who specialize in weddings). Both have taught me a lot about different aspects of photography, such as, compositions, posing and lighting: studio and natural. I always have fun when I get to work with them and look forward to learning more from them in the future! I have also worked for Just Arrived Baby Photography, which was a very good experience and I enjoyed every minute of it.
In the future I would like to be a concert and classic car photographer. Which, incorporates everything that I am passionate about; my love for music, cars and of course, photography.
